This is my LandRover on the beach at Lake Malawi (Senga Bay) in Malawi. My wife and I went on a two month holiday to Malawi in April/May this year (1998). That was when we still lived in South Africa. We came to London on the 18th of June and I am currently working as a SAP/R3 Quality Management Consultant.It took me six months to kit up this Landie. The vehicle is a 1984 R6 Santana 109 Stationwagon LandRover with the 2,6 litre straight six ohv motor with twin SU carbs. I used General Super All Grip Crossply 7.50x16s which are aggresive mud tyres. The equipment list is equally impressive: 2x80 litre water tanks, 95 litre main fueltank, 45 litre underseat fueltank on the left, 75 litre underseat tank on the right, rooftop tent, 4x6kg gas cylinders, 2 plate gas cooker, 60 litre Minus40 freezer, Dual Battery System, ParHot geyser system and shower, Shower awning, Rear Awning and a HUGE 2,5x3m side awning. All awning were on sturdy swingarms meaning that the could be erected in seconds and were totally freestanding. I also had many small items to make life easier, but those are the main ones. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
